How do I measure girth for condom sizing?

When fully erect, wrap a soft tape around the thickest part of the shaft (not the head alone). Default example: 4.5 in (11.4 cm) → nominal width 57 mm → Large. Take two readings and average. Girth drives fit; length only matters if the reservoir feels short after the ring fits.

What is nominal width and how is it calculated?

Nominal width (NW) is the flat width of an unrolled condom in millimeters, printed on most boxes. Formula: NW ≈ girth (mm) ÷ 2. Your default: 114 mm girth ÷ 2 = 57 mm. Reverse: girth ≈ NW × 2 (e.g. Trojan ENZ 53 mm → ~106 mm / 4.2 in girth).

What condom size fits each girth range?

Our bands: Snug 0–47 mm (under 3.7"), Regular 47–52 mm (3.7"–4.09"), Large 52–58 mm (4.09"–4.57"), Extra large 58+ mm (over 4.57"). Example: 4.0 in → 51 mm NW → Regular / Standard.

My girth is 4.5 inches — what condom size do I need?

4.5 in = 114 mm circumference → NW 57 mm → Large (target 52–58 mm). Try brands near that NW such as Trojan Magnum (54 mm) or ONE Legend (55 mm). If 53 mm regular feels tight, step to 54–56 mm large rather than marketing “Magnum” alone.

Does this calculator work in inches, cm, and mm?

Yes. Default uses inches; you can switch to cm or mm. Example in cm: 11.5 cm girth → 115 mm → NW 58 mm → Large. Conversion: inches × 25.4, cm × 10, then divide girth mm by 2 for NW.

Are Trojan Magnum condoms much larger than regular?

Magnum is only a few millimeters wider on the label: Trojan ENZ ~53 mm vs Magnum ~54 mm vs Magnum XL ~56 mm NW. Girth 4 in already fits regular SKUs; you need Magnum when calculated NW is ~54 mm+ (about 4.53 in+). Marketing names ≠ medical “large penis” — read the mm on the box.

What if condoms feel too tight or break?

Often NW is too low. Snug-fit users at 3.7 in need ~47 mm; if you are 4.5 in but use 52–53 mm regular, try 57 mm+ (Large). Add water-based lube, check expiration, and avoid oil-based products on latex.

What if condoms slip off or feel loose?

Size down in NW. Example snug case: 3.7 in → NW 47 mm → Snug / Slim. Try Trojan Snug Fit (47 mm), Beyond Seven (47 mm). A loose regular is less safe than a snug condom that stays seated at the base.

Is length or girth more important for condoms?

Girth sets nominal width and ring tension. Length mainly affects reservoir room — most condoms fit 4–7 in erect length by rolling excess. Your default length 5.5 in is informational; NW 57 mm from girth 4.5 in is the purchase spec.

What if I am between two nominal-width bands?

Within ~1 mm of the next band — try one SKU from each band. Example: 4.48 in → NW 57 mm (Large). Comfort preference: slightly tighter for security, slightly looser if 53 mm leaves a ring mark.
