Condom size chart by girth
Direct answer
Match nominal width (mm) = erect girth (mm) ÷ 2. A 4.5 inch girth is 57 mm (Large). A 4.0 inch girth is 51 mm. A 5.5 inch girth is 70 mm. A 60 mm box matches 4.72 inches (12 cm) of girth before stretch. A standard pharmacy condom is usually 52–54 mm.

Box width → girth (reverse chart)
The millimeter on the package is nominal width. Unstretched girth is that number times 2.

|---|---|---|---|
| 47 mm | 94 | 9.4 | 3.7 |
| 49 mm | 98 | 9.8 | 3.86 |
| 52 mm | 104 | 10.4 | 4.09 |

| 69 mm | 138 | 13.8 | 5.43 |
How to read the chart
- 4.5 in girth → 57 mm. Step up from a 52–53 mm regular if that box feels tight.
- 5.5 in girth → 70 mm. Most store “XL” labels stop near 56–58 mm. Check custom-width brands.
- 60 mm box → 4.72 in (12 cm). Comfort can sit a few millimeters either side because of stretch.
- 6 or 7 inches as length does not change the width row. Use girth. A 6 inch girth is 76 mm; a 7 inch girth is 89 mm and is outside retail sizes.
- Trojan lists Magnum Original at a 55 mm base (about 62 mm mid-shaft) and Magnum XL at a 58 mm base (about 63 mm mid-shaft). Durex “regular” is often about 52–54 mm in the US and about 56 mm in the UK.
Limits
- Bands are an unstretched identity (girth ≈ nominal width × 2), not a guarantee of comfort.
- Go wider if you get a ring mark or breakage. Go snugger if the condom slips.
- The printed millimeter wins over marketing names. This chart is educational, not medical advice.
