South Korea’s 2023 reform standardized 만 나이 for laws and forms; counting age may still appear in casual speech among older generations.
Counting age = current year − birth year + 1
International age = current year − birth year (− 1 if birthday not yet in reference year)
Worked default: 2026 − 2000 + 1 = 27 and 2026 − 2000 = 26. All people born in the same calendar year share the same counting age on any given date.
