NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA rules change and include core courses, progress-toward-degree, term hours, and test-score grids. This tool only models cumulative GPA vs remaining credits—always confirm eligibility with your institution’s compliance office.

Path is challenging but often realistic with course planning and academic support.
Projected total credits after terms: 72 (completed 48 + remaining 24). Feasibility assumes a 4.0 term GPA cap.
Core idea
Quality points algebra
Same cumulative GPA mechanics used in academic recovery planning, applied to eligibility-style GPA goals.

Stress test
Reachable?
If the required average exceeds 4.0 on the modeled credits, the path is mathematically impossible without more credits or policy exceptions.
Scope
GPA trajectory only
Core courses, full-time status, and progress-toward-degree are outside this calculator’s scope.
Input rule
One system per run
Enter credits the same way your transcript lists them for GPA calculation.
Workflow
Plan terms, then target
Use semester and cumulative GPA tools to set realistic grades before locking a target line here.
Cumulative GPA 2.15 on 48 completed credits, 24 remaining graded credits, target cumulative 2.30:
Required average on remaining credits
2.60
Feasible at 4.0 cap?
Yes
The calculator multiplies your current cumulative GPA by completed graded credits to estimate quality points earned so far. It then solves for the uniform term GPA you would need across a block of remaining graded credits so that total quality points divided by total credits equals your chosen target cumulative GPA. That is standard registrar-style cumulative GPA arithmetic, independent of sport or division, and it complements our academic probation GPA calculator which uses the same underlying model with different labeling.
Required avg = (Target × (C + R) − GPA×C) ÷ RWhere C is completed graded credits, R is remaining graded credits modeled,GPA is current cumulative, and Target is the cumulative line you want to reach.
Set a realistic target with compliance → model credits and grades here → adjust course plans
Enter current GPA, completed credits, remaining credits, and set the target preset to 2.0. The results card shows the required term average and feasibility at a 4.0 ceiling.
Tip: run multiple scenarios with different remaining credit counts to see how lighter loads change the required average.
